# Description and specifications:
This is an optional accessory - it is not standard equipment with Steindorff Berlin microscopes.
By default, Steindorff Berlin microscopes (models S, CYN, and MY) do not have a field diaphragm, so they do not have Köhler illumination. Therefore, optimal image quality cannot be achieved when working with phase contrast, for example.

This field diaphragm module mounts on the illumination lens on the microscope base. This, along with the aperture diaphragm in the condenser, provides Köhler-compatible illumination.
