# Part manufacturer:
Wild

# Full manufacturer name:
Wild Heerbrugg Switzerland

# Other names of this manufacturer:
- Leica (Leica Microsystems GmbH)
- Leica Wetzlar
These are names commonly used to refer to this manufacturer of microscopes and microscope parts, even if they are not official. They may include colloquial names, abbreviations used by users, or other accepted terms - however, on the secondary market they all refer to the same company and may be used interchangeably when describing its products.

# Belongs to category:

# Description and specifications:
Right eyepiece prism for the trinocular head of the Wild Heerbrugg M420 Makroskop (macroscope) (Leica M420).

Due to the similar design, it is very likely that this component will also fit the photographic trinocular head of the following macroscope models:
- Wild M400
- Wild M450 (another name: Leica M450)

By MISTAKE I wrote an "L" (as in "left") on this element. In reality this is a RIGHT prism, so please do not be misled by the letter visible in the photos. I repeat: this is a right prism.

The prism is attached to the thread onto which the eyepiece tube is screwed. At present this forms one combined assembly.
If you would like to see this thread in more detail - it is available in the database under number 99401.

This service component may solve the following problems with the trinocular head of the Wild Heerbrugg / Leica M450 macroscope:
- how to remove fungus from the prism?
- can delamination on the prism of the Wild M420 head be removed?
- is it possible to repair the mirror in the prism if it has oxidized?
- cracked prism in the head of the Leica M420 macroscope

The macroscope is an advanced stereoscopic microscope with a high-resolution ZOOM objective.

Why are dual names Wild and Leica used? The M400 macroscope was manufactured by Wild Heerbrugg (Switzerland). Later, the Wild company was acquired by Leica and the M420 and M450 models may be labeled either Wild M420 / Wild M450 or Leica M420 / Leica M450. Note: this is different for the Wild M400 model - it does not have a Leica equivalent, because "Leica M400" is a model of a surgical microscope.

# Examples of use
- as a service replacement part for the full prism
- if the prism in your current head is damaged or heavily degraded
