# Part manufacturer:
Zeiss

# Full manufacturer name:
Carl Zeiss West Germany

# Other names of this manufacturer:
- Carl Zeiss West
- Carl Zeiss West Germany
- Opton
These are names commonly used to refer to this manufacturer of microscopes and microscope parts, even if they are not official. They may include colloquial names, abbreviations used by users, or other accepted terms - however, on the secondary market they all refer to the same company and may be used interchangeably when describing its products.

# Belongs to category:
Intermediate tube

# Description and specifications:
Tube for mounting the photo projection eyepiece in the Carl Zeiss 45 21 43 trinocular head and similar ones.

This particular photo eyepiece holder was removed from a Zeiss 452143 microscope head - but most probably it also fits other heads of the Zeiss AIM systems and of Zeiss Axioplan 2 microscopes, for example:
- Zeiss 452142
- Zeiss 452143
- Zeiss 452145
- Zeiss 452146

These photo-trino heads which I listed above are used, directly or through suitable adapters, among others in the following microscopes:
- Zeiss Axioplan 2
- Zeiss Axioskop 2
- Zeiss Axiophot 2
- Zeiss AIM
- Zeiss Axiotech
- and probably others

Basic parameters of this tube:
Mounting to the trinocular head: with 3 screws
Overall length: 50 mm
Length protruding above the housing of the head: approx. 25 mm
Inner diameter: 30 mm - for use with photo / projection eyepieces of this diameter
Camera installation possible: yes, a so-called USB eyepiece can be mounted in this tube
Centering: yes, the mounted camera or eyepiece can be centered with three centering screws

VERY IMPORTANT: this short tube (it can also be called a holder of the photo projection eyepiece) is screwed to the head with 3 (three) screws. In the photo only 2 (two) are visible - and this is exactly the item I am offering here, because I lost one of the screws. It is a minor thing - but it has to be mentioned.

In the last photo an arrow shows where this part is located in the head, so that it can be identified without any doubt.

# Examples of use
- if you have one of the Zeiss photo/trino heads mentioned in the description without such a tube
- if you have one of the Zeiss photo/trino heads mentioned in the description with a different tube - and you want to replace it with one with a 30 mm opening
- if you want to use this tube for a 30 mm photo eyepiece in your own DIY project

# Removed from microscope:
Zeiss Axioplan 2

# Also compatible with the following microscopes:
- Zeiss Axioplan 2
- Zeiss Axiophot 2
- Zeiss Axioskop 2
- Zeiss AIM
- Zeiss Axiotech
