This is description of this part:
Left specimen spring-loaded clamp for microscope stage by Carl Zeiss Jena.
This clamp fits stages that are mounted, for example, in the following microscopes:
- Carl Zeiss Jena Amplival
- Carl Zeiss Jena Ergaval
- Carl Zeiss Jena Metaval
- Carl Zeiss Jena Docuval
- Carl Zeiss Jena Fluoval
On a mechanical microscope stage there are two such clamps, between which a microscope slide with a specimen is placed. These clamps - right and left are not identical. Here I present and offer the left clamp, which does have a spring.
Note - different stage models use different clamps. In the photo gallery there are detailed photos of this element along with dimensions. In the last photo, the stage to which this clamp fits is shown. Additionally, an arrow indicates where this element is located, so it is clear which part of the microscope stage is being referred to.
What is this part needed for?
- if you have a microscope stage in which this clamp is missing - which is very common on the secondary market
- if you have a microscope in which this element works but is of very poor quality, e.g. heavily worn, bent or scratched
