This is description of this part:
Blanking plug that is screwed in instead of the transmitted light illuminator in the microscope base (stand base) of Carl Zeiss Jena Ergaval / Amplival microscopes and related models.
This element is used when the microscope does not have a transmitted light illuminator with a lamp holder installed in the rear part of the base. In such a case, so that there is no open hole and no contamination can enter the inside of the microscope, this opening can be closed with this blanking plug.
When can such a situation occur that the microscope does not have a transmitted light illuminator? Most often when the microscope is intended for reflected light work only and simply does not have any DIA illuminator (transmitted light illuminator).
This element fits the following microscopes:
- Carl Zeiss Jena Ergaval
- Carl Zeiss Jena Amplival
- Carl Zeiss Jena Epival
- Carl Zeiss Jena Vertival
- Carl Zeiss Jena Interphako
- Carl Zeiss Jena Fluoval
The photo gallery contains detailed photos of this element from different sides, while the video (in the video gallery) shows exactly how this blanking plug is used and where it is mounted.
