This is description of this part:
Upper main part of the housing of the photographic head (the so-called "trino dome"). This housing has no bottom (lower part).
Metal, cast or injection-molded parts of Carl Zeiss Jena carry their own numbers. This microscope element bears the number 2580 (full designation: Si10 CZ 2580).
This is a service element (replacement part) for the trino head (head with photo output), suitable for Carl Zeiss Jena CF-250 microscopes. Please note that this is a microscope element for a microscope part (the trinocular head) and not a part for a specific microscope model.
Carl Zeiss Jena CF-250 microscopes have a modular design, and the microscope part to which the eyepieces are mounted (commonly referred to as the "head", "binocular" or "binocular tube") is a separate element from the angled tube (sometimes the German term "Winkeltubus" is used). If the angled tube has a photographic output, it is referred to as a "Fototubus". It is precisely for this microscope part that the upper main part of the housing is offered and described here.
Note - although the Carl Zeiss Jena Jenapol and Jenatech microscopes also belong to the CF-250 series, they have a differently constructed photographic output and this housing DOES NOT FIT them.
The exact dimensions of the described and offered microscope element can be seen in the gallery photos. Additionally, in the last photo an arrow indicates which element is being referred to and where it is located in the head, in order to clearly identify this part.
Many different names are commonly used for the trino head. It is worth listing them here - each of them refers to the same microscope part.
- photo head
- trino head
- trinocular head
- trinocular head unit
- photo dome
- photo tube
- inclined tube with photo output
What is this part needed for?
- as a service element for replacing the entire element if the housing of the trino head in your microscope is damaged (e.g. cracked) or in very poor condition
