Knurled zoom ring with magnification scale for the Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 stereomicroscope.
The function of the ring shown here is to change the magnification. The engraved scale on the ring allows the currently selected magnification to be determined.
In the Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 stereomicroscope, continuous magnification adjustment (known as zoom) is implemented inside the microscope body (Greenough system), while the objective lens has a fixed focal length.
The set also includes a threaded retaining ring that allows this assembly to be mounted to the microscope body.
Additionally, in the last photo an arrow indicates which element is being referred to and where it is located in the microscope, in order to clearly identify this part.
