Angle mirror for Carl Zeiss Jena Jenamed microscopes.

The function of this element is to reflect light coming from the microscope base vertically upwards so that, after passing through the microscope slide with the specimen and the objective, it reaches the eyepieces and ultimately the user's eyes.
Metal cast or injection-moulded parts made by Carl Zeiss Jena have their own numbers. This part carries the number: 2721 (full marking: Si10 CZ 2721).
Replacement of the angle mirror in Carl Zeiss Jena Jenamed microscopes may be necessary in the following cases, among others:
- if the mirror becomes significantly scratched as a result of improper cleaning (minor scratches are usually not visible during normal use)
- if the reflective silver coating of the installed mirror becomes oxidised
- if the mirror becomes damaged, chipped or cracked, for example after coming loose from its mount
