Wide-field lens for the microscope condenser used in Carl Zeiss Jena Jenamed microscopes.
It fits the following Carl Zeiss Jena microscopes:
- Jenamed Variant
- Jenamed Cytology
- Jenamed Hematology
- Jenamed-2
- Jenamed Fluorescence
Important: this element is not used in the Jenamed Histology model. In this microscope version, a flip-out type condenser is used, and instead of the wide-field lens there is a polarizer. In other words - this element does not fit the Carl Zeiss Jena Jenamed Histology microscope.
This lens enables uniform illumination of the specimen when working with low magnification objectives. It is most commonly used with 3.2x and 5x objectives. It is an element installed in the microscope base and is part of the transmitted light illumination system.
Mechanically, this lens has a pin that extends outside the housing so that the user can insert or remove the lens from the optical path. It is mounted below the condenser aperture diaphragm. In Jenamed microscopes, the condenser, the aperture diaphragm, and this wide-field lens are all separate modules.
Metal cast or injection-moulded microscope parts manufactured by Carl Zeiss Jena carry their own part numbers. This condenser module bears number 2711-1 (full marking: Si10 CZ 2711-1).
