This is description of this part:
This is a connector used to mount a binocular microscope head to the microscope stand, the angled tube, or the angled tube with photo port in Carl Zeiss Jena CF-250 series microscopes.
Note that this element is a component of a microscope element (the angled tube) and not a part dedicated to a specific microscope model.
This element fits, among others, the following Carl Zeiss Jena microscopes from the CF-250 series:
- Jenamed
- Jenaval
- Jenalumar
- Jenavert
- Jenatech
- Jenapol
Important: the element DOES NOT INCLUDE the screw used to secure the microscope head.
Inside this element there is a protective glass (without its own magnification, so called "zero lens") with a violet anti-reflection coating.
Although this holder for the binocular microscope head and the holder located at the photographic port look the same, have the same dimensions and are mechanically compatible - they are NOT (!) identical.
- the binocular microscope head mount contains a protective glass with a violet anti-reflection coating
- the mount located at the photographic port contains a protective glass with a green anti-reflection coating.
The photos visible in the gallery show the exact dimensions of the element described and offered here. Additionally, in the last photo an arrow indicates which element is being referred to and where it is located in the microscope head, in order to clearly identify this part.
What is this part needed for?
- if in your microscope the protective glass has been damaged, for example cracked
- if the anti-reflection coating has been damaged, scratched or destroyed by fungus
- if you want to mount this holder or the protective glass itself in another microscope
- if you are looking for professional glass with anti-reflection coating for your own DIY project
