This is description of this part:
Small scale marked 0 ... 10 I, located on the side of the upper movable plate of the round rotating microscope stage used in Carl Zeiss Jena L-Stativ class microscopes.
This scale is engraved into a specially shaped brass plate and then silver-plated. After several decades of use, this microscope part often becomes worn and the scale markings may become faint or completely invisible. When restoring such a microscope stage, replacing this scale may therefore be necessary.
This is a service replacement part intended for repairing a microscope stage in which this particular component has been damaged. It is not a complete microscope stage.
These rotating stages were used in L-Stativ class microscopes, including:
- Carl Zeiss Jena Lg
- Carl Zeiss Jena Lumipan
- Carl Zeiss Jena Lu
- Carl Zeiss Jena Lr
Please remember that microscopes and microscope parts manufactured by the Soviet company LOMO were often clones of Carl Zeiss Jena products. Therefore, this component may also fit a Lomo microscope stage, but the dimensions should always be compared very carefully before purchasing.
Carl Zeiss Jena manufactured these rotating stages from the 1930s until approximately the end of the 1960s. During that period many small design details were modified, so it is very important to correctly identify the stage model from which this component was removed.
- every photo in the gallery includes a millimetre scale
- the last photos show the microscope stage disassembled, with an arrow indicating exactly where this component is located
- the final photos also show the complete Carl Zeiss Jena Lg microscope fitted with this stage
All of this allows you to visually confirm that this is exactly the component you are looking for.
What is this part needed for?
- as a repair part by replacing the entire damaged element
- if you have a microscope stage where this element still works but is of very poor quality.
