This is description of this part:
An XY cross stage is used for precise manipulation of a slide with a specimen on the microscope stage.
The basic versions of the Hertel & Reuss microscopes have simple microscope stages with clips for holding the specimen. Therefore, at magnifications above 400x, manually manipulating the slide with the specimen becomes very difficult. XY cross stages are used for this purpose, for example, to move the specimen very precisely at 500x, 600x od 1000x magnification with oil immersion.
This is not a cheap plastic cross stage - it is a well-made Hertel & Reuss design.
NOTE - if the mounting pin spacing matches, this cross stage can be mounted on stages from virtually any manufacturer.
Note - this is version "B" of the XY cross-stage mechanism - it differs from version "A" only in the shape of the screws, but in order to ensure that my photos always show the original item, each variant is listed separately in the database.
Note - Hertel & Reuss manufactured cross stages with fixed specimen clamps as well as a model with a spring-loaded clamp. Here I present and offer the version with fixed clamps.
What is this part needed for?
- if you have a microscope with a standard stage and you need to precisely manipulate the slide with the preparation and use high magnifications
