This is a replaceable module for handling the knife in the Leica CM1800 cryostat/microtome.
Important: The Leica CM1800 cryostat is exactly the same device that was also sold under the name Reichert-Jung CryoCut-E. Why? After Leica acquired Reichert-Jung, both companies sold technically identical products for a certain period under their own brands while maintaining separate model names. All service and spare parts are identical for both devices.
This knife holder is therefore compatible with:
- Reichert-Jung CryoCut-E
- Leica CM1800
However, it is highly likely that it also fits other models with the same or similar design, because knives are compatible across many models and a well-designed knife holder was often used in multiple subsequent models.
