This is description of this part:
Angle tube, i.e. a part of the Leica 501501 microscope binocular head, most commonly used in Leica DM L-serie microscopes:
- Leica DMLS
- Leica DMLB
- Leica DMLM
This element provides an ergonomic, inclined positioning of the head relative to the user's eyes.
The element with manufacturer part number 501501 consists of two main parts:
- angle tube
- binocular head (also referred to as binocular).
Here, only the angle tube is shown and offered, without the binocular head.
Basic parameters:
- mounting to microscope stand: 44,5 mm dovetail
- mounting of the head to the angle tube: three screws
This angle tube can solve the following problems in Leica DMLB / DMLS microscopes:
- if the plastic housing of the angle tube from head P/N 501501 becomes damaged (for example cracked after a fall)
- if the internal prism inside the angle tube from head P/N 501501 becomes damaged: chipped, damaged by fungus, discolored or delaminated
- if the lower lens (from the microscope body side) or upper lens (under the binocular head) inside the angle tube from head P/N 501501 becomes damaged, scratched or loses its anti-reflection coating
What is this part needed for?
- as a service part if the prism in the existing tube is damaged
- if you have a binocular head without an angle tube and want to mount it on a Leica DM L-serie microscope
- if you need an angle tube for your own DIY project
