This is description of this part:
Complete coarse focus and fine focus assembly with internal shaft and pinion for the Leica DMRB microscope and other microscopes from the Leica DM-R series.
The Leica DMR series includes many microscope models. This focus assembly is compatible with, among others:
- Leica DMRB (biological model)
- Leica DMRM (materials science model)
- Leica DMRD (for photomicrography)
- Leica DMRP (polarizing model)
This complete assembly consists of:
- two fine focus knobs, one on each side of the microscope
- two coarse focus knobs, one on each side of the microscope
- a shaft connecting the focus controls on both sides
- the shaft carries a pinion
- the shaft and pinion are mounted in a brass sleeve
The complete assembly can be disassembled into its individual components (knobs, screws, washers, shaft and other parts). To install it in the microscope (for example during servicing or when replacing a damaged component), the assembly must first be taken apart.
