This is description of this part:
A complete focusing block for coarse (macro feed) and fine (micro feed) movement, complete with knobs.
The block from the SM-D model has metal knobs, one of which has a scale. As far as I know, this block is compatible with other SM models, even those with black plastic knobs, and they can be interchanged.
What is this part needed for?
- as a service part when repairing the focusing mechanism (vertical movement)
- if you want to quickly replace the entire block
- if you have an SM model with older knobs and want to replace them with metal ones
