This is description of this part:
The Lomo MIN-8 polarizing microscope is based on the MBB-1A biological microscope, however there are several differences between these two models.
One of the differences between the Lomo MIN-8 and MBB-1A microscopes is the position of the light beam collimating lens:
- in the Lomo MBB-1A microscope this lens is normally located below the Abbe condenser
- in the Lomo MIN-8 microscope this lens is located in the base, in the light path directly behind the field diaphragm
Here I present and offer the complete mechanism for mounting and moving this lens:
- lens in housing
- rod on which the lens is mounted
- holder allowing movement of the lens
- mounting screws
This lens is used to shape the light beam so that the specimen is evenly illuminated at low magnifications.
What is this part needed for?
- as a service part for replacement of the complete component
- if one of the parts of this module in your microscope is damaged
