This is description of this part:
Microscope adapter in the form of a slide-in insert for mounting EPI objectives (for reflected light) with M27 thread for the Lomo MMU-3 metallurgical microscope.
In practice, it works like a "single-objective nosepiece".
A M27 - RMS adapter is screwed into this adapter, allowing an objective with RMS thread to be mounted.
Note: MMU-3 is the model name written in the Latin alphabet. The original model name is written in Cyrillic and looks similar to "MMY-3".
The last images include scans from the instruction manual clearly showing which element this is.
