This is description of this part:
Intermediate tube with an iris diaphragm slide slot connecting the illuminator to the microscope body of the Lomo MMU-3 metallurgical microscope.
This microscope part is an intermediate tube located in the optical path between the reflected-light illuminator with its condenser and the microscope body. It performs two functions:
- on one side it is attached to the microscope body, and this side contains the slot into which the iris diaphragm slide is inserted
- on the opposite side there is a dovetail mount for the illuminator assembly
Please note:
- the original Cyrillic designation of this model is: ЛОМО ММУ-3
- for users of the Latin alphabet who know that the manufacturer is "Lomo", the designation looks like: Lomo MMY-3
- however, the original designation is read as: Lomo MMU-3
The last photograph shows this microscope part indicated with an arrow and its exact position inside the microscope, allowing it to be identified unambiguously.
