This is description of this part:
Microscope body of the Lomo Polam R-113 polarizing microscope (the original Cyrillic designation is ЛОМО Полам Р-113).
The body includes:
- the base with the illuminator mount
- the arm containing the coarse focus (macro movement) and coaxial fine focus (micro movement) mechanism
- a pincer holder (single objective holder) for a polarizing microscope objective
- the microscope head mount – however, in Lomo Polam microscopes this position is first occupied by the intermediate tube with the polarization analyzer, and only then by the microscope head
The complete Lomo Polam R-113 / P-113 microscope body may be useful in the following situations:
- if you are building your own microscope by purchasing individual parts to assemble a configuration that fully meets your requirements
- if you own a Lomo Polam microscope but its body is heavily worn, damaged or incomplete, for example with defective coarse/fine focus controls, a damaged pincer objective holder or other mechanical problems
Lomo Polam microscopes are built around a standardized modular design. For example:
- components such as the stage holder, condenser holder, polarizing intermediate tube, monocular head or trinocular photo head from other Polam models (e.g. L-211 or L-213) are compatible with the R-113 / P-113 body
- the R-113 body can also be installed on other, including newer, Lomo Polam models, making it an inexpensive way to repair a microscope with a defective coarse/fine focus mechanism
What is this part needed for?
- for people assembling their own microscope from individually purchased components
- for people who need to replace a poor quality stand with a properly functioning one
- other situations in which such a microscope stand may be required are listed in the description
