6x (and 8x) eyepieces are best suited for microscopes equipped with a head with a magnification of 1.5x or 1.6x. In such cases, using 10x or higher eyepieces can result in excessive magnification and sometimes poor image quality. In such cases, 6x/8x eyepieces provide the best image and optimal magnification.
