This is description of this part:
Head mounting screw for attaching the microscope head (e.g. a binocular or trinocular microscope head) to the stand of Nikon Eclipse series microscopes.
Replacing the microscope head mounting screw in Nikon Eclipse microscopes may be necessary, among other reasons, when:
- this screw is missing from the microscope, which is common in used microscopes
- the screw in the microscope is bent or broken, which is common when the microscope has not been properly secured for transport
- the screw in the microscope is in poor condition, e.g. damaged because someone tried to force it loose with pliers
The last photos in the gallery show the body of a Nikon Eclipse E600 microscope, with an arrow indicating which element is being referred to and where it is located. This helps prevent mistakes when identifying the element.
What is this part needed for?
- sometimes this screw is missing from purchased used microscopes
- this screw often becomes bent or even breaks – most commonly as a result of improper transport securing
