This is description of this part:
Prism control knob for Nikon C-TT trinocular microscope head.
The Nikon C-TT microscope head has three light split modes:
- 0 / 100
- 50 / 50
- 100 / 0
The prism mounted on a carriage moves along guide rails - and this is exactly the element used to move it.
In the last photo, an arrow shows where this element is located inside the head, allowing precise identification.
Nikon C-TT photo trinocular heads are most commonly used in the following microscopes:
- Nikon Eclipse E600
- Nikon Eclipse E800
- Nikon Eclipse E400
- and likely others
What is this part needed for?
- as a service part, because this element very often gets damaged: it breaks at the threaded section or becomes bent
