This is description of this part:
A complete set for work in reflected light EPI - in brightfield, in darkfield and in polarized light - for microscopes of the Nikon Eclipse family.
This set consists of the following parts:
- reflected light illuminator Nikon LV-UEPI-N, switchable between brightfield and darkfield
- Nikon NCB11 white balancing filter in the reflected light path
- Nikon LV-NBD5 nosepiece taking 5 EPI D objectives with M32 thread
- four Nikon TU Plan Fluor microscope objectives with M32 thread for brightfield and darkfield - listed further down in the description
- 50W halogen lamphouse Nikon LV-LH50PC
- Nikon LV-PO polarizer for work in reflected polarized light
- Nikon C-SP polarizer for work in transmitted polarized light
- Nikon A analyzer in a slider under the head, working together with the polarizers listed above
The Nikon C-SP polarizer has its own page in this database, with a detailed description: https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/91007.
Each of the four objectives also has its own description with exact parameters. The addresses of those pages are given below.
The set contains the following microscope objectives:
- Nikon TU Plan Fluor 5x/0,15 A ∞/0 EPI D OFN25 WD18 (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99618)
- Nikon TU Plan Fluor 20x/0,45 A ∞/0 EPI D OFN25 WD4,5 (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99619)
- Nikon TU Plan Fluor 50x/0,80 A ∞/0 EPI D OFN25 WD1,0 (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99620)
- Nikon TU Plan Fluor 100x/0,90 A ∞/0 EPI D OFN25 WD1,0 (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99621)
This set is intended for work with the following microscopes:
- Nikon Eclipse E600 / E800
- Nikon Eclipse 50i / 55i
- Nikon Eclipse 80i / 90i
- Nikon Eclipse LV
- Nikon Eclipse Ni
- Nikon Eclipse L
- Nikon Eclipse Ci
The Nikon parts listed here that carry the "LV" designation have cheaper counterparts, fully compatible with them. Here are the names of these parts and their equivalents:
- the Nikon LV-UEPI-N reflected light illuminator is simply the newer version of the Nikon L-UEPI EPI illuminator
- the Nikon LV-NBD5 nosepiece is the newer version of the Nikon L-NBD5 nosepiece
- the Nikon LV-PO slider with a rotatable polarizer replaced the earlier model, the Nikon YM-PO
Such a complete reflected light EPI outfit is normally used for:
- metallurgy
- materials science
- electronics (both for inspection and for photography of integrated circuits)
- mineralogy (including viewing thin sections in transmitted polarized light)
- numismatics
- philately
- entomology
- observation of micrometeorites
- study of microfossils
- super macrophotography
What is this part needed for?
- If you want to extend your Nikon Eclipse microscope with EPI reflected light capability
