This is description of this part:
Pinion shaft for the coarse focusing holder of the Japanese Nissho Optical 209 stereo microscope.
Basic parameters of this pinion shaft
Length: 80 mm
Pinion: 7 mm wide, located in the middle of the shaft
Mounting the shaft in the knobs: both ends of the shaft are threaded
Threaded end diameter: 5 mm
It is very likely that Nissho Optical (NSK for short) uses identical pinion shafts across its whole range of stereo microscopes, or more precisely: in the head holders of those microscopes. I give the dimensions of this shaft in the parameter block so that you can check compatibility if you are looking for a pinion shaft for a model other than the "209".
The last photo shows two knobs with the pinion shaft mounted on them. This makes it clear exactly which part is meant.
What is this part needed for?
- as a service part, if you need to replace a damaged pinion shaft (for example because it is bent)
- if you have checked the dimensions of this shaft and want to fit it to a different Nissho Optical stereo microscope
