This is description of this part:
Service part (repair element) for Olympus BX microscopes. This is a metal sleeve in which the coarse and fine focus shaft moves. This element is located inside the microscope stand and is not visible from the outside.
This is a part removed from the stand of an Olympus BX40 microscope. It has been tested and cleaned - and is suitable for use as a service element for repairing a damaged microscope. Many smaller Olympus service elements do not have their own catalog numbers or commercial names, therefore in the last photos in the gallery I indicate with an arrow exactly which element is being offered and where it is located inside the microscope. In this description some names used are descriptive rather than official technical commercial names.
Olympus BX series microscopes use identical assemblies in many different models, therefore there is a high probability that this element - although removed from a BX40 model - is also compatible with other BX series models (for example BX41, BX43, BX50, BX51 etc.). However, before deciding to install such an element in an Olympus BX microscope, it is advisable to first carefully compare shapes and dimensions or ask appropriate questions on forums and in Olympus BX microscope user groups.
What is this part needed for?
- as a service element in the form of replacing the complete assembly if exactly this element or one of its component parts is damaged in the repaired microscope
