This is description of this part:
This is a black plastic part mounted in the center of the microscope base, above the illumination mirror and directly below the condenser. It contains a badge with the PZO logo and a circular illumination filter - the one offered here is colorless.
Some newer versions of the PZO Biolar microscope included a blue illumination filter mounted in the microscope base. This filter cut out the yellow color of the light emitted by the bulb, providing the user with a pleasant, near-white light.
Unfortunately, this filter is not replaceable, and when the light source is changed to a halogen or cold LED, the blue light filter becomes annoying, as the light color changes from white to blue.
If the user tries to remove the original light filter themselves, they often break either the filter or its black housing. This brings us to the point where it's worth having this part on hand - you can easily swap the blue filter for a colorless one.
NOTE - this part is originally heat-attached and held in place by melted plastic legs. After replacement, it's best to glue it in place.
This item fits the following versions of the Biolar PZO microscope:
- B
- Pol
- DIC
- EPI
- Fluoreszenz
Note - it likely will not fit the B2 or GF versions.
