This telescopic eyepiece contains two lines in the field of view used for adjusting DIC interference fringes, but this is the only difference compared to an otherwise identical eyepiece used for adjusting phase contrast. Therefore it can be used:

- for observing the filament when setting illumination according to the Köhler standard
