Photo tube | trinocular head adapter for the Vickers Patholux microscope.
This is an angled photo tube onto which a binocular microscope head is mounted. After attaching a binocular head, the complete assembly forms a full trinocular head.
Basic features:
- dovetail connection for mounting a binocular microscope head
- upper dovetail connection for mounting a photographic adapter
- a tube adapter for 23.2 mm projection eyepieces is currently mounted on this connection
- operating modes: manually switchable light beam split 0 / 100 or 100 / 0
This microscope element is also referred to as:
- photographic adapter
- trino dome
- photo intermediate tube
It is POSSIBLE that this photo tube also fits other microscopes manufactured by Vickers. Detailed mounting interface dimensions will be added soon, which will allow verification of compatibility with other models.
As of today, this adapter is known to fit the following microscopes:
- Vickers Patholux
- Vickers Patholette
Note - please pay attention to paint damage and scratches. These occurred during transport and do not affect optical quality or the operation of this microscope element, but they do reduce its external condition. I did not hide or repaint them so that you have full insight into the actual condition of the item.

- if you own a compatible Vickers microscope in which this element is missing
- if you own a compatible Vickers microscope with a binocular head and want to expand it with a photographic adapter to a trinocular version
- if you already have a microscope with such a trinocular head but the optics are in poor condition or damaged - then you can use this item as a service replacement element
- if you want to try mounting this tube on another microscope, possibly even from a different manufacturer
