This is description of this part:
Ring with a 98 mm diameter and a dovetail, which holds the Zeiss 45 35 10 microscope stage on the stage carrier of the Carl Zeiss Axiolab microscope.
In Carl Zeiss Axiolab microscopes - as in most microscopes of the Axio series (among others Axioskop, Axioplan, Axiophot) - the stages are not permanently fixed with screws. They are interchangeable and are fitted onto the stage carrier, which has the form of a clamp. So that the stage can be fitted onto such a carrier, the stages have a dovetail ring on the underside, with a diameter matching the carrier.
Here I am offering exactly such a dovetail ring, removed from the underside of the Zeiss 453510 stage (the number is also written as: 45 35 10).

The stage this ring comes from was mounted in a Zeiss Axiolab re microscope, P/N 45 09 05 (also written as 450905). However, the same stage model is also mounted on the following variants:
- Zeiss Axiolab drb KT, which carries the same number 45 09 05 (450905)
- Zeiss Axiolab E re, 45 09 07 (450907)
- Zeiss Axiolab A, 45 09 09 (450909)

This item is not a spare part for repairing a microscope. It is a component of the microscope stage - and the stage can be used with any microscope onto whose stage carrier a stage with a 98 mm mounting ring can be fitted.

What is this part needed for?
- as a service part, if you need to replace a damaged dovetail mounting ring on a Zeiss microscope stage
- if you have a Zeiss microscope stage (for example the 453510 model) in the screw-on version, that is without a mounting ring, and you want to turn it into a stage that fits the interchangeable carrier
- if you have a different stage model, perhaps even from a manufacturer other than Zeiss, and you want to fit a 98 mm ring to it so you can use it on Zeiss Axio microscopes
- if you need an original dovetail ring for your own DIY project (for example a home-built EPI stage, cryo stage or heating stage), so that your project can be mounted in the Zeiss stage carrier
