Side-mounted, fixed scale with a 60 mm graduation (a ruler numbered 0-50) for the Zeiss 45 35 10 microscope stage, used in Carl Zeiss Axiolab microscopes.
A Zeiss 45 35 10 microscope stage (also written Zeiss 453510) has four rulers (vernier scales): two on top for the transverse movement and two on the side for the longitudinal movement. The side pair consists of a 60 mm graduation sitting on the fixed surface of the stage and a short 10 mm scale that moves with it (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99974). What I offer here is the longer one, with the 60 mm scale, permanently glued to the side of the stage and serving as the main scale - this is what you read the position against during the longitudinal movement, that is, when the whole stage surface moves back and forth. The movable short graduation travels along this very ruler.
Basic parameters of this scale:
Length: 66 mm
Width: 8 mm
Material: brass sheet, painted black with a white graduation
Mounting: glued to the side of the stage
Scale: 60 mm, numbered every 10 mm (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50)
Movable: no - this scale is glued to the fixed part of the stage and stays in place.
This ruler is simply glued to the Zeiss 45 35 10 microscope stage, and that is the only reason it usually needs replacing: over the years the adhesive gives way, the strip starts lifting at one end, and in the end it falls off and is lost. That is why many stages have no such scale on them at all.
The microscope stage this graduation came from was fitted to a Zeiss Axiolab re microscope, P/N 45 09 05 (also written 450905). The same stage model is, however, also fitted to these variants:

This element is not a repair part for the microscope. It is a part of the microscope stage - and the stage can be used with any compatible Zeiss microscope, and even with others whose holder will take such a stage, either seated or screwed on.
