This is description of this part:
Original blue "lens in a square" nameplate for Zeiss microscopes, with the manufacturer logo in rounded letters.
Parameters of this nameplate:
Manufacturer: Zeiss
Lettering: white "Zeiss" wordmark in the typeface introduced together with the joint logo of both Zeiss companies (Zeiss Oberkochen and Carl Zeiss Jena) in 1993/94
Material: aluminium, thin sheet with embossed lettering
Colour: the so-called early light blue, used by the manufacturer until 1997
Dimensions: 23 mm x 23 mm
Mounting: the plate is glued on
This is the plate variant with the logo introduced in 1993/94 and in use until 1997: light blue, a square with the lens cut out at the bottom, lettering in rounded letters. You can see the previous version here: https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99868.
Because the adhesive that held these plates to the microscope body loses its grip over the years, such plates sometimes fall off. Sometimes they are also deliberately prised out. A plate like this lets you bring your microscope back to its factory appearance using original parts.
What is this part needed for?
- if the original manufacturer logo nameplate has fallen off your Carl Zeiss microscope
- if you simply like this plate and want to have one
- if you feel like putting such a plate on your microscope from another manufacturer
