This is description of this part:
Service part for the microscope head of stereo microscopes from the Stemi D series by Carl Zeiss West Germany.
The mechanism for mechanical (manual) interpupillary distance adjustment in Zeiss Stemi D series stereo microscopes (i.e. models D, DR, DRC and DV 4) is controlled by two plastic elements:
- right, female element with an opening
- left, male element with a protrusion fitting into the opening in the right element
The one shown here is the RIGHT (female) element.
This element is made of plastic and often breaks when the user tries to spread the eyepiece tubes too forcefully.
