Carl Zeiss power supply for microscopes using illuminators with 6 V lamps (typically halogen lamps) rated at no more than 20 W.

This power supply has a maximum output power of 20 W and provides two outputs, allowing two 10 W illuminators to be connected and operated simultaneously.
However, it is a universal power supply and can be used with any microscope illuminator using a light source (lamp) rated at up to 20 W and operating at 6 V. Since most Zeiss microscopes use 6 V 15 W lamps, this power supply is suitable for virtually every microscope equipped with such illumination.
This power supply is most commonly used with microscopes employing 6 V 10 W halogen lamps, where both the transmitted-light illuminator and the reflected-light EPI illuminator are connected to the same power supply. Examples include:
- Zeiss D / DR / DRC / SV (Stemi) stereo microscopes
- Zeiss KF-2 biological microscope
- Zeiss ID2 inverted microscope
Special illuminators designed to work with this power supply were even manufactured for the Zeiss D / DR / DRC stereo microscopes:
- transmitted-light base "Zusatz für Durchlicht" with a 10 W halogen lamp
- auxiliary illuminators "Leuchte 10" / "Leuchte 10 S" with a 10 W halogen lamp
- vertical illuminator "Epileuchte" with a 15 W incandescent lamp
"Leuchte 10S" illuminators on a flexible arm, together with this particular power supply, are frequently used as a source of side reflected illumination for the Zeiss KF-2 biological microscope.

Note – different manufacturers and different illuminators may use different pin spacing in their 6 V connectors. It may therefore be necessary to modify the connector in order to connect it to this Zeiss power supply.
