This is description of this part:
Telan lens - service part for the Carl Zeiss ICM 405 / IM 35 inverted biological microscope.
This is an anti-reflection coated Telan lens located under the microscope head mount.
This lens was removed from a Carl Zeiss ICM 405 microscope. Note that the database also contains a Telan lens removed from the twin model, the Carl Zeiss IM 35 (here: https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99301). The dimensions, the function it performs and my knowledge of the design of both microscope models lead me to believe that both lenses are identical - but since they were physically removed from two different microscope models, they are listed separately in the database.
The Zeiss IM 35 and Zeiss ICM 405 microscopes were also sold under the Opton brand.
The last photos in the gallery show the Zeiss ICM 405 microscope and a scan of the design diagram from the instruction manual. An arrow on these images indicates where this lens is located in the microscope. This allows unambiguous identification of this part.
