This is description of this part:
The "B" and "T" buttons for the Carl Zeiss Photomicroscope III RS microscope.
These two buttons are integrated into a single module and are located on the front left-hand side of the microscope base. In the operating manual (available here: https://www.science-info.net/docs/zeiss/Photomicroscope3-Transmitted-Light.pdf) they are identified as items 14 and 15 (figure on page 4).
According to the operating manual, the "B" button opens the camera shutter electrically for as long as it is pressed. Releasing the button closes the shutter.
The "T" button opens the camera shutter and keeps it open. Pressing it again releases the mechanism and closes the shutter.
Several names are used for this microscope model, including:
- Carl Zeiss Photomicroscope III
- Carl Zeiss Phomi III
- Carl Zeiss PM III
- Zeiss Photomicroscope III RS
- Zeiss Phomi 3
- Zeiss PM3 RS
The photographs in the gallery include an arrow indicating exactly which component is being offered and where it is located inside the microscope. This makes it possible to identify the component unambiguously.
