Complete condenser holder assembly for Carl Zeiss microscopes.
This condenser holder assembly fits the following microscopes:
- Zeiss Photomicroscope (the so-called Zeiss Phomi)
- Zeiss Standard WL 89
- Zeiss Universal
- Zeiss Ultraphot (although the original holder in this model is black)
This complete module consists of the following parts:
- the section with the condenser focusing knob for height adjustment, mounted onto a dovetail guide using a quick-release clamping mechanism
- the condenser holder with a toothed rack, condenser retaining screw and two centering screws
- a swing-out holder for a 32 mm round filter
- a swing-out wide field lens used to provide even illumination of the specimen when observing with low-magnification objectives
This holder accepts condensers with a dovetail mount – it is not intended for condensers with a diameter of 37 mm or 39.5 mm.

The Zeiss Universal, Zeiss Ultraphot, the earliest versions of the Zeiss Standard WL, and the first model of the Zeiss Photomicroscope were originally factory-equipped with this component in black.
The Zeiss Photomicroscope II, Zeiss Photomicroscope III, and the later versions of the Zeiss Standard WL were factory-equipped with this component in grey.
The colour of this component has no effect on compatibility. In other words, a component of either colour fits all of the microscope models listed above.
