Holder for the interchangeable microscope stage used in Carl Zeiss microscopes.
This holder fits the following microscopes:
- Zeiss Standard WL 89
- Zeiss Universal
- Zeiss Photomicroscope (the so-called Zeiss Phomi)
- Zeiss Ultraphot
This holder allows interchangeable microscope stages to be mounted, meaning stages that are not screwed directly to the microscope stand. It also features two centering screws.
This holder consists of two parts:
- the so-called stage "support", which is mounted onto a dovetail guide using a quick-release clamping mechanism
- and the circular stage holder attached to it
If this circular holder for the interchangeable stage is removed, other microscope stages that are not interchangeable but instead mounted with four screws can be attached to the "support".

Additionally, the video gallery contains two videos: the first presents this part from different angles, in close-up views, and demonstrates the movement of its moving components, while the second video shows, among other things, how this part is removed from the microscope body using a Zeiss Photomicroscope II as an example.
The Zeiss Universal, Zeiss Ultraphot, the earliest versions of the Zeiss Standard WL, and the first model of the Zeiss Photomicroscope were originally factory-equipped with this component in black.
The Zeiss Photomicroscope II, Zeiss Photomicroscope III, and the later versions of the Zeiss Standard WL were factory-equipped with this component in grey.
The colour of this component has no effect on compatibility. In other words, a component of either colour fits all of the microscope models listed above.
