This is an assembly of two glass filters located directly behind the transmitted-light diffuser together with a ... metal plate which presses these filters against the microscope housing. It consists of a thin frosted filter and a thick filter which, in my opinion, performs light color correction and also absorbs heat from the halogen bulb. This is a part removed from the stand of an Olympus BX40 microscope. It has been tested and cleaned - and is suitable for use as a service element for repairing a damaged microscope. Many smaller Olympus service elements do not have their own catalog numbers or commercial names, therefore in the last photos in the gallery I indicate with an arrow exactly which element is being offered and where it is located inside the microscope.
