removed from a Carl Zeiss IM 35 microscope. Note that the database also contains a Telan lens removed from the twin model, the Carl Zeiss ICM 405 (here: https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99708). The dimensions, the function it performs and my knowledge of the design of both microscope models lead me to believe that both lenses are identical - but since they were physically removed from two different microscope models, they are listed separately in the database.

The technical name of this microscope part is: rear fixed group (output group) of the pancratic zoom system. These are the two lenses permanently mounted inside the stereo microscope body, located directly below the binocular head.

This service part can help solve the following problems encountered when using the Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 stereo microscope:
- if a lens has been mechanically damaged (scratched, cracked, or chipped)
- if a lens has become delaminated or its surface has been damaged by fungus (mold)
- if someone previously repaired the Citoval-2 microscope incorrectly and these lenses are either missing or in poor condition

entire specimen when using low-magnification objectives. In Carl Zeiss Standard series microscopes it is mounted in a pivoting holder located within the condenser holder assembly.

This particular holder complete with the wide field lens was removed from a Zeiss Standard GFL microscope, but it also fits condenser holders used, among others, in the following microscopes:
- Zeiss Standard 14
- Zeiss Standard 16
- Zeiss Standard 18
- Zeiss Standard WL / WL 89

The lens can be removed from its holder (as shown in the accompanying video) and used for other DIY projects. The very fact that it is removable (and sometimes even falls out by itself) is the reason why it is missing from many used microscopes. The component offered here is intended to solve exactly this problem.

Universal / Zeiss Photomicroscope class microscopes there is a rotating, turret-type "Optovar" magnification changer in the intermediate tube, above the objective nosepiece (not always - please note the remark on this further down in the description).

What I am offering here is the rotating lens wheel of this magnification changer together with the spring click-stop mechanism.

This item fits the magnification changer used in the following microscopes:
- Zeiss Universal
- Zeiss Photomicroscope I
- Zeiss Photomicroscope II
- Zeiss Photomicroscope III RS
- Zeiss Ultraphot

Some models of the Zeiss Universal microscope have no magnification changer in the intermediate tube.

The magnification changer turret offered here has 4 positions:
- PH - this is an empty position, because the Bertrand lens is located higher up in the intermediate tube, in a horizontally sliding tube, together with the prisms that split the light beam towards the photo port
- 1,25x - this is the lens of the basic magnification for observation
- 1,6x - additional magnification lens
- 2x - additional magnification lens

In addition, this item has a sheet-metal detent (the so-called click-stop) that locks the lens wheel in the exact position.

VERY IMPORTANT - this is not a complete "Optovar" magnification changer. It is a service part - a component for repairing a magnification changer.

This item is intended for those who already have such a magnification changer in their microscope, but it needs replacement or repair, for example because its lens (or one of its lenses) has come apart (delamination) or has been damaged by mould. In that case the item offered here can be used to replace the whole lens wheel, or a particular lens can be taken out of it.

Over the years the Carl Zeiss Photomicroscope series microscopes have acquired various names by which users commonly refer to them. These include, among others:

microscopes, the intermediate tube (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/99571) contains a horizontally mounted barrel with a prism that splits the light towards the trinocular/photo port. The individual positions are switched by pulling and pushing the control knob (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/part/91040). The Amici-Bertrand lens, used for aligning DIC and the phase contrast rings, is mounted in the same place - and that is the lens presented here.

Why is this lens located in the light-splitting module, even though the PH marking is on the turret of the Optovar magnification changer? The reason is simple: the first Zeiss Universal models had no magnification changer, so the Amici-Bertrand lens was mounted next to the beam splitting prism and is swung in with the same knob that switches the photo mode. When the magnification changer (with the 1.25x / 1.6x and 2x positions) was added to the newer models, a PH position was provided on the changer as well, containing no lens at all (an empty slot) - because the Bertrand lens for phase contrast stayed where it had always been. Jenaval and Jenalumar microscopes (and of Carl Zeiss Jena Jenavert microscopes, if they are equipped for transmitted light) holds a set of lenses that collimate the light beam. Together they form the Koehler illumination collector, even though they are not mechanically connected to each other.

Here I present a module consisting of:
- the second collector lens in the sequence
- the metal mount holding the lens
- the screws for fastening the mount with the lens to the microscope base

The last photos in the gallery show the complete base of a Carl Zeiss Jena Jenaval microscope. An arrow indicates which part this is and exactly where it sits, so the part can be identified unambiguously.

Note - Carl Zeiss Jena Jenavert microscopes come in two versions: reflected light (EPI) only, and reflected (EPI) plus transmitted light. The lens presented here fits both versions, but in the version without transmitted light... it simply has nothing to do :)

This lens was removed from a Carl Zeiss ICM 405 microscope. This particular lens was removed from the Carl Zeiss P/N 45 21 43 head. The same tube lens model is fitted in various head models for Zeiss Axioplan 2 microscopes:

The Zeiss 452149 tube lens is necessary, among other things, to use infinity corrected Zeiss microscope objectives on microscopes of other manufacturers - including those with a finite 160 mm tube length. It is also very often used in super macro photography, to connect infinity corrected objectives to a photo camera.

This part can be the answer to the following questions:

repairing the eyepiece.

Lens position: this is the topmost lens of the microscope eyepiece, called the eye lens
Lens construction: this is a cemented lens, flat on one side and convex on the other
Matching eyepiece: this is the lens from the Zeiss West Germany CPL W 10x/18 eyepiece, model number 464022-9901

This lens is not a replacement part for the microscope. It is a part for repairing a microscope eyepiece - and that eyepiece can be used in various microscopes, even from manufacturers other than Carl Zeiss. A few microscopes this eyepiece can be used with are listed in the "compatibility" section, but this is definitely not a complete list. It is safe to assume that the Zeiss CPL W 10x/18 eyepiece can be used with any microscope from any manufacturer whose head has a 23.2 mm eyepiece tube diameter.

objectives are corrected for infinity, so an intermediate optic in the form of a tube lens is required to create the intermediate image. In this case it has to be a lens of the Zeiss ICS system with a focal length of 164.5 mm.

In this series of inverted microscopes the tube lens sits below the nosepiece. The last photos in the gallery show the stand of the Carl Zeiss Axiovert 100M microscope, with an arrow pointing to the exact place where this lens is located. This allows you to identify the part without any doubt.

According to the manufacturer this is not a part intended to be replaced by the user, so there is no catalogue number either on the lens mount or on the aluminium profile into which this lens is screwed.

I was not able to confirm it, but it is possible that this ICS tube lens also fits the inverted microscopes Zeiss Axiovert 135 / 135M. Before you decide to use it in the Axiovert 135 / 135M models, please check this on forums or groups devoted to Zeiss microscopes.

The tube transfers the image from the objectives through the whole stand to the head mount. This part has no counterpart in upright biological microscopes.

There is no catalogue number anywhere on this part. That may suggest the manufacturer did not intend it as a part to be replaced by the user, one that could be ordered from service.

The last photos in the gallery show the stand of the Carl Zeiss Axiovert 100M microscope, with an arrow pointing to the place where this part is located. This allows you to identify it without any doubt.

so additional optics in the form of a tube lens are needed to create the intermediate image. In this case it has to be a lens with a focal length of 180 mm, the same as in the Motic CCIS system - and unlike the Zeiss ICS system (also infinity, used among others in the Axio series microscopes), whose tube lens has a focal length of 164.5 mm.

This lens was removed from the Zeiss 415500-1400-000 binocular head, but it also fits the model with a built-in digital camera and the model with a trino port (phototube). So it fits:
- the Zeiss 415500-1400-000 binocular head
- the Zeiss 415500-1401-000 binocular head with trinocular phototube
- the Zeiss 415500-1402-000 binocular head with built-in digital camera

In the Primostar series the tube lens is placed in the two-part microscope head. This head consists of the angled tube and the eyepiece head screwed onto it. The tube lens sits in the lower part of the tube, at the joint with the microscope body, inside the ring dovetail.
