This is description of this part:
Main objective f=125 for the Carl Zeiss slit lamps 125/16 and 100/16.
This objective fits the following slit lamp microscopes:
- Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp 125/16
- Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp 100/16
I have not found any documentation confirming my assumption, but most probably this objective also fits the models:
- Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp 20 SL
- Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp 30 SL
Important: it is widely but wrongly believed that these slit lamp models have a built-in objective with a magnification changer. That magnification changer is not an objective. It is a Galilean lens system, while the objective itself screws onto a thread underneath the body of this microscope.
A note on the mounting thread diameter: this f=125 objective has a mounting thread of 47 mm diameter. Slit lamps are not surgical microscopes, even though they are sometimes - incorrectly - called Zeiss OPMI f=125. The early models of the Zeiss OPMI surgical microscopes have objectives with a mounting thread of 48 mm diameter. This single millimetre of difference is why objectives from these two kinds of microscopes are often confused, especially as they can almost be screwed into a female thread 1 mm larger or smaller in diameter.
Several terms are used for this slit lamp microscope (slit lamp):
- Carl Zeiss Spaltlampe 125/16
- Carl Zeiss Spaltlampe f=125
- Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp f=125
- Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp 125/16
- Carl Zeiss OPMI f=125 (although this name is incorrect)
- Carl Zeiss f=125 head
- Carl Zeiss f-125 slit lamp microscope
- Carl Zeiss f-125 slit lamp
- Carl Zeiss f-125 stereo microscope

What is this part needed for?
- if you own a Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp F 125 without an objective (because someone unscrewed it, for example) or with a damaged one
- if you own a Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp F 100 without an objective or with a damaged objective
- if you own a Carl Zeiss Slit Lamp F 100 with the objective standard for that model (that is f=100) and you want to increase its working distance to 125 mm
