This is description of this part:

Microscope objective with RMS thread, 30x magnification, very high, variable numerical aperture, built-in iris diaphragm, designed for water immersion and improved correction for fluorescence illumination.

Manufacturer: Lomo
Model: WI 30x0.90 L
Manufacturer code: O5V-30L
Magnification: 30x
Numerical aperture: variable from 0.65 to 0.90
Iris diaphragm: yes, built-in
Optical correction: achromat + fluorescence
Tube length: 160 mm
Focal length: 33 mm
Immersion: yes, water
Cover glass: yes, 0.17 mm
Marking: "L" = luminescence
Thread: RMS
Year of manuractue: 1974

This is a rare, professional microscope objective with a very wide range of applications. Main features that make this objective exceptional:
- Water immersion is preferred by many users over oil immersion
- Very high numerical aperture (up to 0.90) provides high-resolution images
- Built-in iris diaphragm allows adjustment of the aperture

Despite the "L" marking, the objective can of course also be used with standard illumination.

LOMO objectives with the "L" luminescence marking differ from those without this symbol by:
- Improved transmission in the UV and blue spectral range
- Lower glass autofluorescence
- No or strongly reduced use of organic adhesives

What is this part needed for?

  • If you want to upgrade your Lomo microscope with original parts
  • If you need a 30x water immersion objective lens for Lomo, Carl Zeiss Jena, PZO, IOR, or other microscopes requiring 33mm and 160mm lenses
  • If you have a Lomo microscope from 1974 (the serial number begins with "74") and want original-era objectives
  • If you don't like oil immersion but want better image quality than standard, dry 30x objectives
