This is description of this part:
1.6× auxiliary magnification objective for the photo adapter of Zeiss OPMI / Opton OPMI surgical microscopes.
This objective provides additional magnification, improves camera sensor coverage and helps eliminate vignetting when using a photographic camera (e.g. a DSLR) or a digital camera connected to a Zeiss (Opton) OPMI surgical microscope via a photo adapter.
Mechanically, this objective is installed between the photo adapter and the camera. It also incorporates a holder for an additional 30 mm filter positioned in the optical path (for example, a polarizing filter, neutral-density filter or colour filter).

Note regarding the Zeiss brand: the objective bears the "Opton" logo – this was the trade name under which Zeiss exported its products (see the explanation at the end of this product description)

Manufacturer number: most probably 30 16 68 (alternative notation: 301668) – note – not confirmed in the manufacturer's documentation
Magnification: 1.6×
Anti-reflection coating: yes – multi-layer T* coating (red star), the successor to the earlier single-layer T coating. It reduces reflections and improves contrast in the photographic optical path
Mounting interface: 48 mm dovetail (male on one side, female on the other)
Filter holder: yes, for a round 30 mm filter
This objective is compatible with every photo adapter, beam splitter or auxiliary observation tube for Zeiss OPMI / Opton OPMI surgical microscopes equipped with a 48 mm dovetail connection.

- this is not a Barlow lens for a Zeiss OPMI microscope objective
- this is not a front-mounted auxiliary objective — it is not mounted onto the main objective of a Zeiss OPMI surgical microscope
Note regarding the manufacturer's name: Carl Zeiss West Germany marketed its OPMI surgical microscopes (and their accessories) under the following names:
- Zeiss OPMI
- Opton OPMI
These are the same microscopes and the same components.
When the name "Opton" appears, it is printed on the label, while the word "Zeiss" underneath has often been washed off, worn away or scraped off at the factory. The reason for the deliberate removal of the "Zeiss" name and the use of the "Opton" name was an agreement with Carl Zeiss Jena, which operated in the former Eastern Bloc (communist bloc), to avoid using the name "Zeiss" on export products.
