This is description of this part:
Allen screw for mounting the head carrier to the end of the microscope arm of Carl Zeiss Standard microscopes.
In the

microscopes, a module is screwed to the end of the microscope arm. This module also serves as the head carrier and may have rails for mounting a removable nosepiece housing, or sometimes an integrated nosepiece.
Here I present and offer the Allen screw used to attach this particular module to the microscope arm.
In the last photos in the gallery (https://www.microscopeparts.eu/gallery/91033), you can see the microscope arm of a Zeiss Standard WL 89, with an arrow indicating which screw this is and where it is located in the microscope. This allows for unambiguous identification of this component.

IMPORTANT: This is not the screw used to mount the microscope head to the stand (more precisely, to the head carrier). Note – over the years, Zeiss microscopes (or the same microscopes sold under the names Zeiss-Winkel or under the Opton brand) may have used different screws to mount the head carrier to the stand arm. Before deciding to replace a screw in a microscope, it is best to carefully compare its appearance and dimensions with the photos in the gallery or ask a question on the forum https://mikroskopie-forum.at/forum/
What is this part needed for?
- if you need to replace the screw because someone damaged it while forcefully trying to unscrew it – this is a very common fault
- if you are assembling a microscope from separate components and the original screw for mounting the head carrier to the microscope stand is missing
