Description

Allen screw for mounting the head carrier to the end of the microscope arm of Carl Zeiss Standard microscopes.

microscopes, a module is screwed to the end of the microscope arm. This module also serves as the head carrier and may have rails for mounting a removable nosepiece housing, or sometimes an integrated nosepiece.

Here I present and offer the Allen screw used to attach this particular module to the microscope arm.

In the last photos in the gallery ([[ LINK ]]), you can see the microscope arm of a Zeiss Standard WL 89, with an arrow indicating which screw this is and where it is located in the microscope. This allows for unambiguous identification of this component.

Please note that Carl Zeiss Standard GFL microscopes use a different screw. This is immediately apparent because it is not an Allen screw – you can see it here: [[ LINK ]]

IMPORTANT: This is not the screw used to mount the microscope head to the stand (more precisely, to the head carrier). Here: [[ LINK ]] you can see a gallery of photos of the screw used to mount the head to the microscope. The screw presented here is NOT that screw.

Note – over the years, Zeiss microscopes (or the same microscopes sold under the names Zeiss-Winkel or under the Opton brand) may have used different screws to mount the head carrier to the stand arm. Before deciding to replace a screw in a microscope, it is best to carefully compare its appearance and dimensions with the photos in the gallery or ask a question on the forum [[ LINK ]]
