This is description of this part:
Very rarely encountered on the used equipment market trinocular microscope head manufactured by Hertel & Reuss.
Manufacturer: Hertel & Reuss
Model: BFO (= B=bino, FO = foto)
Eyepiece diameter: 23.2 mm
Mounting diameter: 50 mm
Photo thread: 24 mm (M24)
A trinocular head is a binocular microscope head with an additional third optical port for connecting a camera or photographic device.
This particular unit comes from a Hertel & Reuss Studio II microscope, but it also works with any other microscope model from this manufacturer that has an interchangeable head with a mounting diameter of 50 mm.
NOTE - as far as I remember, not all H&R microscopes have an easily interchangeable head; this applies, for example, to the Primus model.
NOTE - some microscope models from Steindorff Berlin also have a head mounting diameter of 50 mm and are fully compatible with H&R heads - an example of such a microscope with a Hertel & Reuss head can be seen on Facebook at the following address: https://www.facebook.com/groups/136833493390496/posts/1722336908173472/
