the housing can crumble, crack or break. The remedy for such a problem is then the replacement of the whole head or of this housing part only.

Inside the housing there is the eyepiece shutter together with the knob for sliding it.

This is the housing of the head, not the housing of the microscope. The 452143 head itself fits directly on the Carl Zeiss Axioplan 2, Axioplan 2 imaging and Axiophot 2 microscopes, and with the 452969 adapter it is also used on Axioskop 2 stands. This part therefore fits every 452143 head, regardless of which microscope that head is working on.

The Zeiss 452149 tube lens is necessary, among other things, to use infinity corrected Zeiss microscope objectives on microscopes of other manufacturers - including those with a finite 160 mm tube length. VERY IMPORTANT: this short tube (it can also be called a holder of the photo projection eyepiece) is screwed to the head with 3 (three) screws. In the photo only 2 (two) are visible - and this is exactly the item I am offering here, because I lost one of the screws. It is a minor thing - but it has to be mentioned.

Because the adhesive that held these plates to the microscope body loses its grip over the years, such plates sometimes fall off. Sometimes they are also deliberately prised out. A plate like this lets you bring your microscope back to its factory appearance using original parts.
