Note - because this is an interference filter (it has a mirrored surface), the angle at which the filter sits relative to the incoming light matters and affects its parameters.

Several decades of work right next to the HBO lamp can cloud it or make it delaminate, which shows as patches or rainbow islands that do not disappear when you rotate it.
