▼ More about this microscope part
Interestingly, microscope versions intended exclusively for reflected-light operation (for example, the basic versions of the Carl Zeiss Jena Jenavert) do not include this transmitted-light field diaphragm because they do not have a transmitted-light optical path. However, the microscope base is identical to that used in transmitted-light models. This makes it possible to upgrade such an EPI microscope for transmitted-light operation by installing the complete lower transmitted-light optical path. The field diaphragm offered here is one of the components required for this conversion.
In the last photograph, an arrow indicates where the transmitted-light field diaphragm is located inside the microscope base, making this component easy to identify.
