Interestingly, binocular heads with a 30 mm eyepiece mounting diameter are sometimes also installed in older microscopes of the Mikroval series (e.g. Ergaval and Amplival) - in such cases this eyepiece will also fit them, because - in general - eyepieces fit the head mounted on the microscope, not the microscope itself.

A single Carl Zeiss Jena PW 6.3x (25) eyepiece can solve the following problems:

  • a second 6.3x eyepiece is missing to complete a pair
  • a low magnification eyepiece is needed for use in a trinocular photo tube
